Four roles in real estate — investors, agents, wholesalers, and private lenders — each with their own workbench, sharing one platform spine.
The problem
Real estate deals touch multiple roles — but each role uses different tools, different data formats, and different communication channels. An investor runs numbers in a spreadsheet. An agent manages listings in the MLS. A wholesaler tracks leads in a CRM. A lender underwrites in yet another system. Nobody shares a source of truth. Deals stall because information lives in silos.
What we built
Architecture
Birdie is UWC's first multi_workbench_platform project —
a subtype reserved for platforms that host multiple role-specific workbenches on a shared
system-of-record spine. Each workbench qualifies individually as an AI Workbench (ingest
pipeline, extraction with confidence scoring, weighted scoring engine, per-tenant cost
guard, human-gated outreach). The platform layer handles cross-role coordination: deal
stages, document sharing, and a marketplace for connecting investors with lenders.
The outcome
Birdie completed all 9 milestones (M1 architecture through M8 marketing site) as a single monorepo with a Django backend and Astro marketing frontend. The platform currently serves four distinct roles from one codebase — each workbench feels purpose-built for its user, but all four share the same property records, deal pipeline, and document store.
